I do actually really like this design! I think it is effective with the white box over the image and the type cut out. Therefore it is still in keeping with the idea of 'reveal'.
What I would like to do tomorrow is to get loads more close up pictures of textures and make sure they are not white or pale so the type stands out.
As on some of these designs I made the background behind the text darker to make it stand out more.
